Oil has been found in Sudan! There is only 2 problems. One is that the oil was found in the south of Sudan and the north want it. The other problem is that the north rules the country. The south doesn't care about the oil much and they just want to be left alone after the series of civil wars that have orphaned over 25000 people.
Currently there is a vote taking place in Sudan which is to decide whether to split up Sudan or keep it together because of oil found in south Sudan. South Sudan has been waiting for this moment for years and most of them are going to vote for independence.
This could trigger another genocide, led by north sudan to get the oil and we need people to be aware of whats happening. We have to protect south sudan from the north or devastation awaits.
You can sing the the petition at www.sudanactionnow.org that will go to the president of the united states who has the power to stop the wars in Sudan. If he knows you know, he can send soldiers in to defend the south and give them the independence they have wanted for decades
